Defining the Wins in Your Ministry

It’s important to define the wins in your church or other people will define them for you. In other words, your wins are determined by the vision of your church in making disciples. This episode speaks to the importance of constantly defining your qualitative wins (not just the numbers), measuring your wins, and measuring the growth of your people. Defining your wins and celebrating your wins allows you to create the culture you desire in the life of your church.

Show Notes

  • Why is it important to define the wins in our ministry?
  • We need to know where we are going.
  • We need to be able to develop a process.
  • We need to measure everything that we can.
  • We need a common vision and goal for every department.
  • Remember — God defines the wins.
  • How do we determine the wins?
  • It always goes back to vision, always asking the question, “What are we about as a church?”
  • The wins is always the Great Commission — we need to always let Jesus define the win.
  • The question is, “How do we measure and track that someone is actually making disciples?”
  • Do you know what you are tracking and measuring?
  • Do you have a process for your leaders to grow?
  • How do we measure growth in our people?
  • Most
  •  ways people measure growth is by checking the boxes (reading the Bible,
  •  memorizing Scripture, go through these classes, read these books, etc).
  • At FC, we are asking more of these kinds of questions:
  • How many people are in small groups?
  • How many people are lead small groups?
  • How many life-changing stories are we seeing?
  • How many disciple-makers do we have?
  • We want to define to quantitative stuff, but more importantly, we want to celebrate the qualitative stuff.
  • What is your next step as a pastor?
  • Ask the question, “What is the win for you?”
  • Develop your mission, vision, values with your team that give clarity and direction to your church.
  • Create culture by defining and celebrating the wins of your church’s vision.
