The Power of the Big Day
In episode 37, Pastor Trent and Pastor Greg talk about the Power of Big Days.
Show Notes
What is a Big Day?
It can be anything you make it, for us, it’s been more evangelistic, relational, and fun.
You are putting more into the experience on a Sunday.
It gives people an opportunity to invite their lost friends.
Eight Principals Behind the Power of the Big Day
Be strategic about the timing.
You do not want to do this in May.
Some days are built-in, like Easter and Christmas.
Four or maybe five Big Days in the Year.
You need to have your sermon calendar planned out a year in advance for days like this.
13 weeks prior is the creative meeting before the event.
Prepare
Create what comes around it.
What makes this day special?
Resources, food, and promotions.
You are giving them a window to practice the power of invitation.
This is something that stirs in the community, it becomes a buzz in the community.
This is all about getting people in a position to hear the gospel.
It takes multiple interactions for new people to visit your church.
Put your best foot forward.
Do the best you can with the people that you have.
Themes should be conceptional with your city or area.
Preaching to lost people, not just people at our church already.
The audience is non-Christians.
The Lead Pastor should preach
The target audience does not know big-name Pastors.
If they come back you want them to know who the Lead Pastor is.
Be you and do the best with what you have.
The attraction is the relationship with the person they invited.
What they don’t get is a personal Pastor who knows them.
