Show Notes

What is a Big Day?
  • It can be anything you make it, for us, it’s been more evangelistic, relational, and fun.
  • You are putting more into the experience on a Sunday.
  • It gives people an opportunity to invite their lost friends.
Eight Principals Behind the Power of the Big Day
  • Be strategic about the timing.
  • You do not want to do this in May.
  • Some days are built-in, like Easter and Christmas.
  • Four or maybe five Big Days in the Year.
  • You need to have your sermon calendar planned out a year in advance for days like this.
  • 13 weeks prior is the creative meeting before the event.
  • Prepare
  • Create what comes around it.
  • What makes this day special?
  • Resources, food, and promotions.
  • You are giving them a window to practice the power of invitation.
  • This is something that stirs in the community, it becomes a buzz in the community.
  • This is all about getting people in a position to hear the gospel.
  • It takes multiple interactions for new people to visit your church.
  • Put your best foot forward.
  • Do the best you can with the people that you have.
  • Themes should be conceptional with your city or area.
  • Preaching to lost people, not just people at our church already.
  • The audience is non-Christians.
  • The Lead Pastor should preach
  • The target audience does not know big-name Pastors.
  • If they come back you want them to know who the Lead Pastor is.
  • Be you and do the best with what you have.
  • The attraction is the relationship with the person they invited.
  • What they don’t get is a personal Pastor who knows them.
